Two years after the death of its founder and 30 years of absence from the
world of fashion, the "Pierre Cardin" house returned Sunday to participate in the official program for Ready-to-Wear Week in Paris, in a move that falls within the framework of the re-launch of this brand.
And according to Agence France-Presse, the nephew of the late designer, Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, who assumed the presidency of the house as his successor, explained that his uncle “was beginning to achieve success, so he considered that he no longer needed to hold shows according to the official program, refusing to oblige him to present two collections annually on two dates.” And he was satisfied with holding performances from time to time in France or abroad.
The collection, which was shown on Sunday, includes 60 designs for the house team, which now consists of the son of Pierre Cardin's niece and three assistants who have been working with him for a long time.
The
new collection saw a return to the basic rules of the house with a more refined and modern approach, focusing on bright colors and recycled fabrics, in adherence to the principles of environmental responsibility established by Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, originally an engineer.
The collection also included a day set consisting of a turquoise blue jacket with geometric holes over loose white trousers, an
evening dress with a transparent veil, a shirt that shows the lower abdomen with wide trousers, and a matching coat over them.
Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin said he wanted the collection to "simplify the figure of women" while "remaining distinctive". He explained that he wanted to "go to the young people who are moving away more and more from similarities."
