What’s New for Microsoft Copilot Plus PCs

In a recent blog post, Microsoft revealed that more AI functionalities are on the way for Copilot Plus devices. The upcoming features include Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and an improved Windows Search.

Recall (Preview)

Recall allows users to quickly rediscover apps, websites, images, or documents by retracing their digital activity. Designed to simplify finding past work or browsing sessions, it offers a timeline view or the ability to search using simple descriptions. Microsoft claims Recall can reduce retrieval time by up to 70%. It runs locally on the device with strong privacy protections, ensuring that data remains encrypted, secure, and never shared with Microsoft or third parties.

Click to Do

Click to Do provides instant, contextual shortcuts for tasks like summarizing, rewriting, copying text, or editing images directly from the screen. Users can activate it by pressing "Win + Click," swiping right on touchscreens, or accessing icons in tools like Start and Snipping Tool. While image-related actions are already available, text-related actions are initially rolling out to Snapdragon X series devices, with AMD and Intel device support coming later.

Enhanced Windows Search

The upgraded Windows Search lets users find images, documents, or settings using natural language descriptions without needing exact file names. Powered by a local neural processing unit (NPU), it offers faster, more intuitive results, cutting search time by up to 70% compared to the traditional Windows 10 search experience.

How to Access the New Features

These new AI capabilities are part of the April 2025 Windows non-security preview update for Copilot Plus PCs. Microsoft will gradually roll them out to users over the next month through a controlled feature rollout (CFR) process.
