And a new video clip on TikTok revealed that your body odor seeps into certain textiles such as polyester because it does not absorb water, which means it is oil-based and attracts these substances, according to the Daily Mail.

Polyester, nylon and other similar fabrics are widely used to design clothes, repel moisture and dry faster, but the tiny cracks in these fabrics absorb sweat particles.

And the experts shared cleaning tips to get rid of the unpleasant smell, such as pre-soaking it in vinegar, avoiding throwing it in the laundry basket, and leaving it for a while before cleaning it.
