According to TikTok, these funds will be offered through both cash grants and TikTok ad credits, allowing selected organizations to broaden their reach and impact on the platform. The goal is to engage TikTok’s massive user base in raising awareness and support for veterans’ needs.
TikTok also noted that veterans have a strong presence on the app, with one in three U.S. veterans reportedly using TikTok each month. To strengthen this connection, the platform is launching a new Veterans Creator Spotlight, featuring veteran creators who actively educate the public on the realities of military service. These creators will work alongside TikTok’s partner organizations to promote ongoing fundraising and advocacy.
Additionally, TikTok is providing selected nonprofits with specialized training to enhance their app engagement and reach, while also introducing a new donation sticker to encourage user contributions directly through the platform.
To further support veteran entrepreneurs, TikTok has unveiled the "SOAR Together Veteran Business Accelerator," which will provide 15 veterans with professional coaching and mentorship to help grow their businesses. This program will also include a veterans internship program launching in summer 2025 and a new paid military leave policy for TikTok employees.
Through these initiatives, TikTok aims to not only support veterans but also to increase awareness among its younger audience of the sacrifices made by military service members. It’s a unique approach that could bridge generational gaps, build connections, and bring more attention to veteran-related causes on a widely influential platform.
